Hey everyone~!! I wanted to share a little something something I worked on for a final research project and other projects that I did during my schooling years at Ursinus (GO BEARS!!!)
This was my final research project I did for my "Visual Culture of Japan" course. Why did I choose this as my final project? Well, I always had a fascination of body modifications (though I would only go as far as getting my ears pierced) and through the help of my professor. I started this project with very little to no idea of how Japan was with tattoos. At first, I thought I would hate doing this project; shortly after I started working on it, I became engrossed by it. In my free time, I would find myself looking up pages after pages of Japanese tattooing for my own knowledge. Although, that had helped my research. ^_^ When it came to the end of it, I felt as though I wasn't finished learning. I wanted to know more and teach my classmates more of it. Though I had so much information (below link), I had to get rid of a few for it did not flow properly with the rest of the paper. While I am in Japan, I would like to study more on the Japanese tattoo to increase my knowledge. Hopefully, you will enjoy my research project on tattoos - something I would never do to my body, but something I have a fascination on learning more.
Here is a link to one project that I worked on: "So Is This permanent?" This was a final project I did on the visuals and social factors of Japanese tattoos. Please click the "So Is This Permanent" above. :) If you'd like to comment on the piece, please do so here in the comment box below.
